About Us

Christchurch South Community Patrol is a volunteer organisation that is dedicated to improving the safety and security of the Christchurch South community. Established in 1995, we have been serving the community for over 25 years. We believe that proactive patrols and community engagement are essential tools in helping to create a safer and more secure community.

Our team of volunteers patrol the community mainly by car and is trained in observation, reporting, and basic first aid. We believe that proactive patrols are an important part of maintaining a safe and secure community, and we work to identify and report any suspicious activity or potential safety hazards. Our patrols also provide an extra set of eyes and ears for the community, and we are able to report any concerns or issues that we observe to the local police and council.

In addition to patrols, Christchurch South Community Patrol also engages with the community to promote safety and crime prevention. This may include working with local schools, businesses, and other organisations to raise awareness about safety issues and to provide resources and information to help people protect themselves and their properties. We believe that it is important for the community to be informed and empowered to take steps to protect themselves, and we work to provide information and resources to help them do so. We do this by attending local community meetings and events such as the Canterbury Agricultural Show and Hoon Hay Fiesta, among others.

We are committed to working with local authorities and the community to create a safer and more secure environment for everyone. Each year, we set goals for ourselves to ensure that we are continuously improving and finding new ways to support our community better. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on the safety and security of our community. Introducing the website and Facebook page means we can have an even stronger community presence. Work continues to embrace new technology, the purchase of an iPad and the development of a log system will allow us to become paperless on patrol.
